About Charlie White

Two well-known catalogs of factory 356 literature have been published. The second of the two, DerWhite's 356 Porsche Sales & Technical Literature......the Book!, was produced by a long time 356 Registry member, the late Charlie White. A review of Charlie's book by Bill Block is reproduced at Book Review - Charlie White Literature Catalog.

In addition to producing the catalog, Charlie created a website which contains a vast amount of information about the 356, including literature, accessories, options, price lists, radios, etc. His website is currently maintained by the family and his literature book is still available directly from his website (via email ordering) at Charlie White Book.

Charlie was profiled in the 356 Registry Magazine in 2009. The profile can be found at Charlie White Registry Magazine Profile. The Porsche 356 Registry honored Charlie's contribution with a Spark Plug Award in 2014 and presents Charlie's statement about his love of the 356 at Charlie White Book Introduction. Gordon Maltby, the editor of the Registry magazine wrote this remembrance about Charlie.

Registry Columns

Charlie was a prolific contributor to the Registry's magazine and his columns can be found within the preserved articles available for download.

Here's Charlie’s first column from December 1981.

The most efficient way to find Charlie’s columns is through the site's Document Search function. Before jumping in though, please understand that the system returns only a maximum of 30 articles. Charlie’s search results may give a count more than 30, so you have to narrow the search down by searching only in specific magazine volumes, or if the results are more than 30, issue by issue.

For example, search for "Charlie" and then, in the Document Folder, select a specific range of Magazine Articles,
i.e. "V20-29". Be sure to check the "Include Sub-folders" box.
