'62 Porsche 356 T6 Roadster, a rare opportunity to acquire the second T6 Roadster made and the earliest one known to exist of the 246 T6 Roadsters produced. Belgian bodied at D'ieteren, this rare car was the personal project of a respected 356 restoration expert known for his attention to detail and all repairs have been completed to a very high standard. All numbers match the original CoA: engine, trans, hood, decklid. This 356 is complete with all components to finish and most of the 'heavy lifting' has already been done and done correctly. Many original components were 'saved' and the car includes many NOS, correct and restored parts as well as many new and correct German parts.
The body of this 356 has been repaired beautifully with no filler and utilizing the correct spot welds and lead finishing. Panel gaps are excellent and all panels were fitted with seals in place. Door bottoms expertly replaced, the car is sealed in epoxy and primed, the underside looks new with the correct finish already applied.
Original glass and new glass included, the original windshield posts have been refinished, and the windshield assembly has completed with all trim and a new correct windshield which has been test fitted to the body. The top frame has been repaired and all pieces are present.
The original engine has had its components rebuilt by Walt at CE, the case is standard, and the engine is ready to assemble.Many 'saved' original components, rebuilt lifters, rebuilt distributor, rebuilt heads, rebuilt generator and regulator,new bearings, new cam, new German gasket set, all quality work.
The original numbers-matching transmission has been completely rebuilt by the 356 transmission expert Vic Skirmants with 'new everything': new R&P, new bearings, etc and is now in as new condition.
