Belongs to Alex Mestas

Chassis: 211259

I have a 1963 Porsche 356 1600 S B T6 Coupe. I'm the second owner having bought it in 1980. The car was originally purchased at Trans Ocean Motors in Pasadena, California. It's a rust free car. The window frames have been triple chrome plated with front/rear windshield and all new window and rubber seals throughout. All glass is factory correct with the original Sigla windshield and Durvit door and vent windows. It has solid longitudinals and jack spires. The battery box is the original and rust free. The car has had 2 repaints (1982 & 2009) the single stage paint in its original Signal Red. I installed all new deco trim. It's an early 1963 356 B T-6 Coupe. Production date is August 1, 1962. It has the original black California license plates. All body numbers are matching (transmission, doors, and lids). It has 5 Lemmerz steel date matching rims. In 1981 it had a minor restoration with new reupholstered dash and headliner. I also installed all new interior rubber floor mats and original weave carpeting. It was used as a daily driver from 1981 to 1990. In 1992 I did a complete overhaul of the engine top and bottom, powder coated the tin black, reinstalled the engine without tampering with the original soundproofing in the rear portion of the engine compartment. In 2009 a new clutch, clutch cable, flywheel and a welded & balanced fan by Rimco were installed. Front brake shoes and cylinders were also rebuilt. It has never leaked oil, still has the original 6 volt system. I had all the gauges restored by North Hollywood Speedometer, installed a new oil temperature sending unit, replaced the speedometer cable and installed an oil Pressure gauge in place of the clock. In October of 2009, I had the gas tank reconditioned, added a new gas cap and installed an Optima 6 volt battery with a cloaking device. I had the Bosch horns restored by Julian Hardy. I have Sprint Classic Vredestein 15” tires. Autos International re upholstered the two front seats with black corduroy inserts. It has original headrests. I’ve had the sun visors restored by Jack Arct in Portland, OR. I’ve installed an ignition switch saving device relay and head light relay from 356electrics, to improve starting efficiency as well as making the headlights 75% brighter. In addition for safety, I installed the CuLayer high intensity LED tail and brake lights. It has LED instrument lights by Jules Dielen. It also has a Halon 2.5 lb Fire Extinguisher mounted on the steering column. I installed P.E.P 3 point retractable seat belts. I have tried to add all the original equipment that was available in 1963, like the 128 Hella fog lamps, with the original switch as well an original horn ring on the steering wheel. It already has a Reutter's luggage rack and custom made luggage straps by Dusty Johnson of Pleasant Valley Saddle Shop and stone guard grills. I recently added an original Behr fresh air blower with original dash controller. It is one of the rarest options available. I added a 15" 400 mm Bruce Crawford Carrera 2 repo steering wheel. In the glove compartment I have the original Owners manual, an original Dealers directory, an original Hella trouble light, as well as an original Spec's Information Please... booklet. I have also added a reproduction glycerin bottle and Lackstifts 6211 signal red touch up paint stick by Carl Bauer. I’ve reconstructed a travel kit using an original gasket kit set I had. Autos International made me a gray case to match my tool kit which was patterned after an original travel kit bag. I have a partial complete original 63 tie string tool kit. The items I was missing like the Phillips screwdriver I’ve replaced with a reproduction. I installed a restored Blaupunkt Series T Frankfurt Radio and Original 5" "Sort of round" speaker grills. I have in storage the restored clock, the original radio block off plate, the original VDO black plastic steering wheel, and the original deco trim.
