I race an A in our local historic races and naturally have drum brakes on the car. The local guys can reline the shoes but they only have the normal street linings. Can anybody tell me where I can buy a set of racing linings eg kevlar etc. I will be coming to the US in Aug so if i cant buy the linings I will bring the old ones if only sold on exchange

Clive, I've used the shoes from Carbotech in cars I've prepared for vintage racing. They seem to hold up well .

I'll second the recommendation for the Carbotech shoes. I have been running them for 12 years on the street and my only complaint is they squeal when cold which can be helped by occassionally cleaning out the brake drums. I have a friend who has run them for many years in his vintage 356A Coupe racecar and swears by them.

I have been told by Leonard Turnbeaugh that the Carbotech linings are a bit aggressive on the drums. He uses Porterfield and is happy with their performance. I'm on disc brakes, so have no hands-on experience.

Well Carbotech have come back to me and apparently one of the components they use in the race lining material they can no longer get and thus they dont make the race quality linings any longer.
Does anyboby know other suppliers that you can put me onto?
