A guy shot this with his 8mm camera when he picked up his 67 912 new at the Factory and then drove it around Europe.

Thanks Adam, that was fun to watch. And not a 356 in sight. Only a couple of years after 356 production ended, and it was ancient history as far as Porsche was concerned, they were on to new things.

I know George Vaccaro and have seen his 912 several times. It is incredibly original, including the paint.

Barry, I did spot one 356 Cab in the long parking lot shot, probably there for a tune-up.
The really cool thing about the video was showing the trip enjoying the brand new car, imagine, a brand new Porsche from the Factory. The only brand new vehicle I have owned was my 1999 Nissan pickup, nowhere near as exciting, even with the new car smell.

I recall a story about James Garner, must have been close to this time, when he had arranged to pick up a new 911 at the factory. This is when he was filming "Grand Prix" in Europe. Garner was at the wheel leaving the factory grounds when he was stopped at the exit gate. Approving his paperwork the guard opened the gate to allow egress only to immediately close it again, right across the fenders and hood of the new car. Needless to say, Jim had to wait a little longer for his factory pick up.

One of James Garner's co stars also bought a new 911 during the filming of, 'Grand Prix', Eva Marie Saint. The film was profitable for Porsche!
