Hi All,

I'm happy to say that we survived the fire as we were located exactly in the center of it.
Our home is OK as is the Porsche which I hurried off the mountain on June 9th when we evacuated.
Now that we have electricity and phone service we await the repair of our server.
I have 35 days of catching up to do reading 356 daily posts.
With 87000+ acres burned we lost over 90% of our fire district and 191 homes.

Norm, Glad to hear you and the family are fine and the house and Porsche made it through the event. Hope the rest of your summer is less eventfull. Good luck with getting your lives back to normal and hope the rest of the folks do well also. We have been really lucky here in Oregon so far and hope the rest of the country can get back to normal. George

Norm,
That is great news. Still, it is very sad that your neighbors have lost so much of their hard earned possessions sadder yet are those who have been injured or killed. You just never know what's in store so live life well.

Your 356 surviving reminds me of the 356er (whose name escapes me) had to leave his car in New Orleans to escape Hurricane Katrina. He did the only thing he could, put the car on jack stands as high as he could. Smart man, when he returned the water/mud line was a few inches up the tire, but the car was ok.
Glad to hear you made it out ok, scary thing, fire.

That was Wyatt Blankingship, who has a red C coupe like mine.
I met him at the Gulf Coast Holiday in Boerne, TX.

Kudos to this quick witted gentleman who saved his Porsche from the flood in Louisville, Kentucky!

Norm:

Knowing that you are in the Bellevue area, I've been thinking about you for days, hoping you were OK. It's good to hear that you are.
