I am trying to get photos of my 1958 Super Speedster that might have been taken at the Speedsterfest in Hayward, CA, I believe it was in 1993. Tom Peirona of Belmont, CA was the owner at the time. Dave Worm, emailed and with a great idea and graciously offered to look through his photos to see if he has a picture and I thought I might ask to see if anyone might also have some. I have attached a photo of the car as it might have looked like at the time. This photo was taken in 1997 shortly after I got the car. The car was the "model" for the Cleworth poster that was done in the late 1970s when Tom Peirona owned it. I bought the poster in 1982 at the Monterey Historics and the car in Redwood City in 1997.

It had a rollbar installed and the top looked like a low bow as the middle bow was bent to retract lower against the rollbar. It might have had a Talbot mirror on the fender at the time that I believe was removed by the owner between Tom and myself. Also, there was no nose script.

Registry article says Jim Brezeale, Hank Tarbell, Clark Anderson and my late friend Richard Miller were involved. Maybe George Kuznekovs was involved as well??

Years later, Hank blessed me with an original NOS t shirt from the event.

Appreciate any help anyone can provide and thanks Dave Worm for the great idea!!

Hi Steve

I have the poster board with every Speedster in attendance from the 1992 Speedsterfest at Cal State Hayward. It is attached to the ceiling in my front showroom. That is the only place I could find that was big enough to put it. It has been there since 1992. What is the Chassis number of your car. There were a bunch of Ruby Red 58 Speedsters (including mine) in attendance I, also have a print hanging in my office that was delivered by Harold Cleworth, himself, to me on the 1st day of release.

Regards

Hey Jim,

Do you see Black '58 #83996 there?

I just counted 11 Black Speedsters but none with your chassis number. I just realized that one car was pictured twice. Maybe your car got left out of the picture as a mixup.

Regards

Jim

After looking more closely at all of the photos, I'm guessing your chassis number is 84757 and, yes, it has a Talbot mirror (featured in the Cleworth print).

Ciao

Jim, you are correct, sir. My chassis number is 84757. Wonder if you might know who the photographer was? Perhaps he saved the negatives. Either way, next time I'm up in that neck of the woods (would be great if it was THAT Saturday morning) I'll stop by and take a photo of your ceiling.

How cool that you have that board, don't remember seeing it when I was there. Was some time ago, and my friend, the late Tony Simeon was there that day, so maybe 5-6 years ago.

Thanks,

Steve-
I think listening to Jim is so entrancing that you never think to look up, I didn't see this either, and I have been there several times.

A slight hijack, apologies...

1. Jim, did 84015 attend? Black.

2. I have this poster. Similar to Cleworth, but signed M.Pickel. Mike Pickel. A bit of info on him here: www.pinheadlounge.com/mikepickel

Dan

I don't see your car in the pictures. It was an event that was pretty much for owners of Speedsters in the San Francisco Bay Area. Of course, there were attendees from out of the area but the bulk were local cars. The goal was to get 100 Speedsters on the field at one time, but we came up just a few cars short. Hank Tarbell was the organizer and the Speedsterfest was a blast. Just a bunch of car guys hanging out and enjoying each other's cars.

Regards
