I am in need of about 2 meters of 70 mm diameter black corrugated paper/aluminium air duct hose. This type of hose is normally used on our 356s in 50 mm size to hook up the heater valves under the car or in 60 mm size to hook up a T6 gas heater or fresh air blower. Does anyone know of a source here in the US for the 70mm diameter size? I have found a supplier in Spain at this link: http://www.upicsa.com/supplies/auto/fle ... 1560-92_85. Anyone in Spain able to procure some for me? I would gladly pay the cost and shipping.

Bill,

All the Euro heater systems I've worked on have 60mm diameters on the Euro heat valves and the heater box snouts; I never heard or seen any 70mm hose placements.

Hi Dick,

Yes, 70 mm is not a stock Porsche paper hose size. I am installing a BN2 gas heater in my 59A cab project and the warm air out end of the heater is 70 mm, as is the duct into the box section under the rear parcel shelf. I can make transition parts to get down to 60 mm, which was what Porsche originally did for the BN2 installation in a pushrod car or BN3 installation in a carrera, but was trying to save some work. I think the late 60s to early 70s VW bus may have used this size hose so I need to call one of the VW vendors.

Just to throw another anomaly into the mix, attached is a photo of the paper hose sold to me by Stoddard awhile back for the Euro exchangers on my 64C.

Have you considered getting the hose from Eberspaecher?
I don't know about 70mm hose, but their catalog shows a 75mm hose.
Downlad and look in their Products Catalog at the link below, (from the Canadian Eberspaecher website, Espar):

http://www.espar.com/html/service/download/technical.html

They also have 60mm to 75mm adapters, and all kinds of neat parts for heaters that can also be used for other projects.

70 mm dia is not the usual for these paper hoses (P-A-P). Try the following German company http://www.flexschlauch-luebeck.de/prod ... ex_pap.php

Thanks Brad and Jerry, I will try those two sources.

Stephen - what is the ID of the large end of the hose Stoddard sold for your Euro heat system? Richard at NLA told me that the "factory" adaptor for going from the 70mm end of the Eberspacher BN2 heater down to the 60 mm hose was actually a piece of 70 mm hose with a piece of 60mm inside - like the photo you posted. Is the part number 644-211-051-00?
