I have a late 63B T-6 Karmen Coupe. Car is in final stages of restoration. When I turn ignition - nothing happens. All other items seem to be functioning, headlights, tail lights, turn signals, radio and gauges. I check all the fuses - all good.
On the ignition switch there are 7 wires attached. But 2 loose that may have been knock off the back. One is yellow and the other is brownish-red with black strip. Is it possible that 1 of these is causing the starter from not turning. (Car was dismantle by painter who may have pulled these wires loose by mistake.)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Steven,
If you are in the final stages of a restoration and do not already have a wiring diagram, then it is long past due! Suggest you have on hand, factory manual (with non-color code wiring diagram), Factory T-5 poster diagram (color coded), and Joe Leoni's T-6/C electrical book. See 356 vendor list for details. A through restoration is certainly worthy of a complete electrical restoration too !
To determine a non-start problem requires starting at the battery and working your way rearward checking each connection for soundness and voltage drop. I and others on the List could pose many possible root causes but they would all be shots in the dark without detailed knowledge of your systems condition. There is no quick fix unless already you know the condition of your wiring and you are well versed in 356 electrical matters in which case you would not have posed the question.

Steven:
I agree strongly with Larry with regard to the value of the proper books, and plenty of them! I have been working on Porsches for 56 years, and still use my books regularly.
That said, the large dia. yellow wire provides the signal to the starter. It plugs into the socket marked "50" on the back of the switch. If my (sinile) memory serves, the 1st one to the left of the gap, looking at the back of the switch.

Jim,
That shows the headlight dimmer as a foot switch; T5?
If so, does the change affect other circuits?

Ron I think that is the flasher as the dimmer is in the turn switch which is shown in the diagram and this diagram does match Our early T5 B for what its worth.
Maybe Ing. or turn switch?? .
