Hi Andy,

Glad to see you on the forum!

Paint samples on small sheet steel squares can be purchased from John Wilhoit who is on the vendors list. These were matched to original paint and you will likely have to match paint to one of those.

Also, the inside of cab windshield frames were typically painted to match the interior color as you mention, but I do not believe there are any color codes for those.

Regards,

Hi Andy
I am in the process of restoring a barn find 1962 Cabrio that was originally 704 (actually 738 which is the same so I am told). It was blasted in a sand storm in 1974 in the Palm Springs area and painted silver.
Parked 27 years.
If you receive a good lead on paint let me know please as I will be going back to the original color.
My inside frame looks like yours with the red color to match the interior.
John

For the red on the inside of the windshield frame if you are using the wine red interior upholstery color, Volkswagen paprika rot is a good color. Use about 70% gloss. See attached photo.

Toyota/Lexus code 4H8, and Chris, I trust that is succinct enough?

Methinks that somehow Andy failed to enter a user name when he registered?

Andy, see if the moderators can correct that for you by inserting your name of choice. Lacking that, re-register using your name. You'd lose a few posts, but what the heck.

Oh yeah, and welcome to the forum.

Cheers,
Wes

When I first answered the post it had his user name as "Andrew Daugherty" and his avatar was a picture of the shop with some cars out front.

When I looked again later it just said "guest".
